Advanced Media has received word that one of several new announcements to be made at a Nintendo DS conference in Japan will be the unveiling of a new Web Browser for the dual-screen handheld. Early reports indicate that the browser will be powered by Opera Software technology.

Several other exciting announcements are expected to be made at the conference and Advanced Media will be updating throughout the day on further breaking news and information coming out of Japan.

UPDATE 5:20 PM PST:

It is also rumored that later today/tomorrow, Nintendo will announce a new, high-profile DS game for the handheld system. We'll have more on these developments as they break, so hang onto your seats.

2ND UPDATE 6:20 PM PST:

Just coming in and nearly confirmed, rumored reports are coming in that Nintendo will announce a DS TV Tuner accessory during the company's scheduled press conference in Japan.

We've scoured up an old mock-up image (left) of what the DS TV Tuner may look like, as DS owners can expect more details to start rolling in late this evening.

Also currently being talked about is the probability of Nintendo's full public unveiling of the new Nintendo DS Lite hardware. With numerous pictures of the system already having released this week, the chances of Nintendo's DS re-design making some sort of an appearance seems inevitable.
