New Press Copies of Animal Crossing: Wild World Features Slur

Hol. Lee. Crap. Someone is so getting fired for this.
Recently, members of the press (not me, sadly) received copies of Animal Crossing: Wild World with everything unlocked from the House of Mario in order to demonstrate the ease with which one can import their characters and catalogs to the new Wii version, City Folk. What no one expected was to find one of the animal characters dropping the N-word. And no, I don't mean "Nintendo."
Nintendo must have known that I'm terrible at "Animal Crossing" and thought I'd need help. So they unlocked a lot of content for me. They appear to have quite accidentally gotten a bit hip-hop about all this. Whoever played this game for me back at Nintendo trained at least one of the characters to greet me with the line [censored here]: "How are you, N—a?" -- MTV MultiplayerAs it turns out, Kotaku got the same deal.
Multiplayer is sure to note that this is not standard for the E-rated game (which carries the standard note that all bets are off once you go online), as one is capable of customizing greetings amongst the game's inhabitants; beyond that, the only way it could happen is if one of your friends does something of the sort, or if you've bought a used copy. Or in this case, had one sent to you.
And then there's the word in question. I didn't expect a sheep named Baabara to walk up to me n the game and say "I almost forgot about you n—a." ... But I can tell that it isn't meant as an offense. It's clearly meant more as a hip-hop slang greeting. -- MTV MultiplayerThe rest of Multiplayer's report attests to how nice the town and setup the mystery player created is, but that it's just that one thing they never saw coming. It should be interesting to see how Nintendo responds, especially as I'm sure Totilo and Crecente weren't the only two people to receive copies.
