My Games This Weekend - 10.23.09 - Bowser's Inside Story and TMNT: Smash-Up
October 23, 2009 | 4:51 PM PST
My wife finally got her copy of Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story, but so far, I've been the one playing it, and that will no doubt continue over the weekend. I'm only a short ways in, but this is already turning into my favorite of the three, as it seems to have addressed some issues I've had with past games. It still doesn't tell you how much further you have to go before a boss finally dies, but at least the exploration feels less tedious and the controls and timing seem all-around better.
Oh, and the dialogue is funnier than Partners in Time, too, more along the lines of Superstar Saga.
I've also been facing a bit of writer's block on TMNT: Smash-Up, and I might play some more of that to help through it. It's definitely a good game, but it just feels like it could have been so much better, and it's difficult to write about without seeming like I'm trashing it. But I think I'm ready to get that one out of the way; after all, there are more games to do, once they get here.
That is, whenever they get here. No sign of Mario & Sonic yet, nor has FedEx arrived with my copy of WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010. But the Canada Post carrier was kind enough to wake me up twice this morning to come downstairs and pick up books for my wife's job that she doesn't even do any more. Just lovely, that.
And speaking of WWE, Bragging Rights is this Sunday, so I'll be off to catch that. I'll have Mario Kart DS in tow this time, so that when I face off against one of the other frequent patrons, I won't be stuck using a Shy Guy.
I'm also going to be trying to get my hands on Wii Fit Plus this weekend. Might have had it today, but the weather has been terrible. Hopefully it will clear up tomorrow, when we try to go shopping for a new TV stand.
Finally, I should really pick up Animal Crossing: City Folk again. But I doubt that will happen this weekend.
So, there we go. A bit longer than usual, but those are (and aren't) my games this weekend. What are yours?
