Link Pipes Up in The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
November 9, 2009 | 3:01 PM PST

Of Nintendo's many heroes, Link is perhaps one of the most musically inclined (or "the Links are," if you prefer). From the Ocarina of Time to the Wind Waker, and even being a one-man grand-stand band in Link's Awakening, Hyrule's hero always seems to have time for tunes.

And in the upcoming DS title The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, it seems that little has changed in this regard. Official Nintendo Magazine reveals that not only will Link be speeding across the countryside via the Spirit Tracks, but he will also summon special powers through the Spirit Pipes, a Pan pipe-like instrument which will be controlled by blowing into the DS microphone while touching different pipes with the stylus.

"Before you're able to visit a temple," ONM notes, "you have to search for one of the land's guardians, called the Lokomos, who will teach you a song which restores the tracks to the temple. You'll then be required to listen to the metronome to keep to the rhythm."

So, that's one more enchanted instrument to add to the repertoire; which instrument do you think Link should jam with next?
